I don’t disagree with the main premise of this great article, but I’d add that a well-educated, ethnically homogeneous population MIGHT be a some sort of a barrier against ruinous ideas. And if not - what can ?

It would block against ruinous ideas which arose from outside. Although it would be unable to confront those which arose from within.

Aesthetics are a barrier. They reify abstract principles. So you can tell if the idea is corrupt by looking at its tangible parts.
